$1200？ 😮 A 1000 lb lift table from Harbour Freight with coupon is around $270+tax.
@@jinpark5324 this device seem to do a faster job though. and I do have the harbor freight lifting table for the last 10 years.
Back surgery is more expensive.
Useless if the old water heater is on a solid block, instead of a stand.
It will actually work for a solid block the offset from the base plate to lift plate is 7 in so the overlap will be underneath the water heater.
Great product but way overpriced $1300 plus tax
why nobody makes a convertible 2-wheels (vertical)/4-wheels (horizontal), not electric, handtruck with double handbrakes on just a single axle wheels, that is the bearing one when it is in the 2-wheels/vertical setup. in this way we can have an handbrakes truck both on 2-wheels and 4-wheels configurations. think about people that have to carry heavy stuff up and down a chute....

Needs stair climbing rails on the back to help get up over the stair.
Sometimes the right tool for the job.
As a water heater installer I don't think this particular hand truck is practical. Its designed under the assumption that the water heaters are on a nice platform with lots of room around it. Reality is that they're not.
Quality product. Best I've seen so far.

Lift table might be much cheaper and better fits your need. Someone mentioned it cost around $1200 USD.
